A mane of gorgeous, romantic waves is one way a DivaGal can feel fabulous! We’re absolutely fawning over the luscious locks Selena Gomez sported at the the MTV European Music Awards. Here’s how to get the look, courtesy of celebrity hairstylist Natasha Sunshine of Byu-Ti Salon in Los Angeles.

“Gorgeous romantic waves begin with clean dry hair,’ she shares. “For thicker hair, take small sections about 1 1/2 inches — for fine hair, take double that section — and use a smaller curling iron to get sharp, crisp waves.”

The key is to spray each section before curling with a light hairspray like Pureology’s Strengthening Control. Twist the section before curling and wind like a candy cane around the iron. Make sure to roll the sections framing the face away from your face. Continue each section like this until the entire head is curled. Give a another mist of hairspray for fine hair and use a shine spray for thicker hair. We love Redken’s Shine Flash 02.

Finish the look by raking your fingers through curls to break them up and use a final mist of hairspray. Now feel fabulous as you hit the runway, even if it’s just in your own living room!
