Hi DivaGals, want to know what to wear in Atlanta? Here are seven essential pieces I took with me for my 48-hour art and culture-infused getaway!

The Pieces

Keep your wardrobe simple, chic and interchangeable, and have one stand-out piece that’s an (art) show stopper! Here was my list of pieces:

-Oversized black blazer from BOOHOO Petite
-Crisp white button-down shirt from Beach Lunch Lounge Collection
-Pale pink crop camisole from AMAZON
-Black sleeveless satin tank from ZARA
-Lavender denim mini skirt from MADEWELL
-Show-stopping floral print dress by PETER SOM
-Floral print pantsuit (which is technically two pieces, but only one word!) from BOOHOO Petite

My accessories included a stacked black heel, suede dusty pink mules, a brown suede handbag, a small nylon backpack and jewelry.

Here’s How I Wore It:

Delaina at the Alchemists in Atlanta 2023

For the opening of The Alchemists at the Black-owned Johnson Lowe Galley, I wore a floral patterned Peter Som Collective mini dress with pockets, paired with a brown suede clutch. It was the perfect piece to mingle with several of the 28 contemporary artists featured in the program. Donovan Johnson, one of the youngest commercial gallery owners in the nation, co-curated the exhibition. It was great to talk to artistic Divas like Ashante Kindle and Shanequa Gay.

I ended a night at the Waldorf Astoria Buckhead, one the nicest hotels where I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying. It was great to soak in the oversized tub and slip into the room robe and take-home slippers.

The next morning, I took advantage of the Astoria’s spacious gym in this AMAZON workout gear before returning to Johnson Lowe for a private tour.

For my private tour, I wore my black blazer with the pink crop tank, white blouse and floral pants. Comfy walking shoes were a must.

Transitioning for dinner was a breeze. I swapped out my black blazer for the floral one. Perfect for dinner at Sotto Sotto with our special guest of the evening, my mom!

Made well lavender skirt

For my final afternoon, I paired my black blazer and tank with the lavender mini skirt for a trip to Atlanta Contemporary and an afternoon at For Keeps, a Black-owned bookstore that specializes in rare and banned books by Black authors.

Until the next trip!
Delaina
