What We’re Watching This Week! BET+ New Series: Bigger/First Wives Club. Plus: Season Finale of SYTYCD On FOX!
By Delaina Dixon | September 16, 2019 | EntertainmentBET+, its new streaming service, premieres two of its highly anticipated series this week! Bigger follows a single-black-woman who is dealing with the threat of marriage to a boring-in-bed boyfriend and the sudden, random death of a college acquaintance. It explores how her close-knit clan of friends handle the situation in their East Atlanta neighborhood, Little Five Points. First Wives Club is a modern television remake of the classic 1996 revenge comedy with an African American cast including Jill Scott, Ryan Michelle Bathe and our pal Michelle Buteau. The three women band together as they navigate music superstar Hazel’s tabloid-ridden divorce, campaign manager Ari’s unsatisfying marriage and orthopedic surgeon Bree’s cheating husband. Both premiere Thursday, Sept. 19.
