TV DivaGal was on a cruise ship in the middle of the Atlantic when she watched an advance screening of CCH Pounder‘s Emmy-nominated guest spot on HBO’s heart-warming series, The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency. (I actually had to stop my dear mum from jumping overboard and swimming back to shore so she could get more screeners!)
While earning an Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series nod is a lovely notion for the actress, it’s the time she spent shooting in Botswana, the series picturesque locale, that touched her most.
“I’ve always been the actor who tried to work outside of the box. I’ve done some work in Guadeloupe and worked in other languages. Botswana is the first place where the Creator’s magnificence, in terms of animal and people, came all together for me,” she tells the TV DivaGal.
“There was desert and delta and from the plains, you could see giraffes looking in the water. It was an extraordinary experience.”
So extraordinary that CCH, who can be seen in the upcoming Fox comedy Brothers, kinda forgot to leave.
“I only was working for two weeks, but I stayed there for a month and a half,” chuckles the actress.
“I didn’t want to come back, my husband actually had to call me to come home.”
TV DivaGal loves a vacation like that!
