Seal Team is the new military drama that follows the professional and personal lives of the elite unit of Navy SEALs as they train, plan and execute the most dangerous, high-stakes missions our country can ask of them.
At the upcoming series press tour panel, it was shared that the show will focus on the military professionals risking their lives every day for our freedom. It will be about what it’s like to hold a family and personal life together while serving in the Navy, transcending the political climate of our nation, and focusing more on the individuals who protect and serve. That means saving the life of a captain on one day – and arguing with your wife about the sprinkler system the next.
Star Toni Trucks also shared how real-life military personnel, whom she spoke with to prepare for the series, have asked if Seal Team can focus on “a dynamic where there are intermilitary marriages because that’s very common.”
There will also be jokes. When real-life military men and women were asked what’s the one thing that every other military show or movie gets wrong, “they all say it’s not funny enough and that, frankly, that their interactions and their lives in the military are filled with humor,” shared Seal Team‘s execs. So expect to get your chuckles in while these real-life heroes are saving the world.
Seal Team premieres Sept. 27 on CBS.
