Best Rooftop Restaurants NYC 2022! Gallow Green At The McKittrick Is Officially Open!

Searching for the best rooftop restaurants in NYC? The DivaGals are kicking off our new series, “Best Rooftop Restaurants NYC” for 2022! Our first stop? The Herb Festival opening party on the Gallow Green rooftop at The McKittrick Hotel!

What Is Gallow Green?

Nestled inside a floral paradise, Gallow Green is one of New York’s greenest, most unique rooftop destinations. Overflowing with flowers, herbs and hanging vines that create a whimsical, dream-like setting, this outdoor oasis has plenty of intimate settings, making it one of the best NYC rooftop restaurants. Tables and cushioned seating are scattered throughout this secret lush getaway to dine on tasty treats and sip refreshing seasonal cocktails inspired by the hotel and its residents.

What better way to celebrate 4/20 than on a lush rooftop consuming delicious finger foods that include tacos, sliders, ceviche (with a vegan option) and cocktails infused with herbs and inspired by a garden of delights curated by florist Jen Stone. We started the festival with the Sleep No More cocktail, vodka infused with elderflower, butterfly-pea flowers, citrus and cider, and things just got more interesting from there.

What Is On Gallow Green’s Spring/Summer Menu?

Conceived by French chef Pascal Le Seac’h, this season’s delectables include tacos with chicken, steak, carnitas, shrimp or cacti on corn tortillas made fresh in-house. We also tried Gallow Green’s signature cheeseburger made with a special blend of DeBragga steak, bacon marmalade and pickles. Extra crispy french fries with a kick of Aleppo pepper seasoning are a must side dish.

We also got a sneak sip of an upcoming margarita with cucumber. Wine by the glass or bottle, local beer and seasonal ciders are also available.

Gallow Green’s full dinner menu includes grilled Scottish salmon on a bed of Bibb lettuce with seasonal vegetables and rosé cava dressing, as well as Angus flat iron steak served with silky pink peppercorn sauce.

Alternatively, you can also enjoy chilled raw bar selections, gorgeously presented crudité, cheese plates, lightly fried calamari, and a decadent selection of desserts.
