DIVA THIS TOMORROW! Watch Real-life Sisters Play Sisters On The New Series “Kenan” On NBC!
By Delaina Dixon | February 15, 2021 | EntertainmentKenan Thomson is stepping into primetime with his new series Kenan. The Saturday Night Live star stars as a morning show host and widower who must balance work and being a father. And the two adorable young girls playing his onscreen kids, newcomers Dani and Dannah Lane, are actually real-life sisters from Atlanta.
Kenan revealed that originally they were looking to cast twins, “but I thought it was better that they were different enough to have different personalities and stuff like that being a year apart,”he shared. “I didn’t really watch their audition more than three seconds. I was “Oh, that’s them. That’s perfect.”
Dannah revealed that the sisters were familiar with Kenan’s previous work. “When we were able to do a show with him, we felt so honored and grateful that we could do a show with the Kenan Thompson,” shegushed
The gals weren’t as familiar with the work of Don Johnson (yes, Miami Vice Don Johnson!), who plays their grandfather on the show. ” I make stuff that they couldn’t watch,” he declared with a chuckle.
As for the sisters working so seamlessly together,”We brought our relationship from real life into the show because this is how we act,” Dani said. Fellow SNL star Chris Redd is also on the series, playing Kenan’s his brother.
Kenan premieres on Feb. 16 at 8:30 p.m. on NBC.
