GAL APPROVED! Three Shows You Must See This Thanksgiving: Ralph Breaks The Internet, My Christmas Inn & the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade!By Delaina Dixon | November 21, 2018 | Entertainment
SEE. It’s been six years since we’ve seen Wreck-it Ralph and Sugar Rush’s Vanellope von Schweetz. The two have been BFFs since their last adventure, though Vanellope admits, life is a little bit of a snooze driving the same tracks every day. Ralph tries to mix things up for his bestie, which leads to a broken Sugar Rush video game. The only way to fix it? Hit the Internet! Disney’s Ralph Breaks The Internet brings the virtual world to life, with mini versions of ourselves getting flown around to Internet destinations like Google, eBay and a new video-sharing site Buzztube, run by the very fly Yesss (voiced by Taraji. P. Henson). While Ralph works overtime to make enough money to get Sugar Rush fixed, Vanellope finds a new heart-pounding track that takes her breath away. Ralph starts to realize that his friendship with her is changing, which leads him to some drastic measures. It creates some heavy moments in the film that may scare the littlest of children, but it’s a great platform to explore what friendship is really about.
What this DivaGal loves about Ralph Breaks The Internet is its inclusion of the Disney princesses! All 11 official princesses, plus Frozen’s Elsa and Anna, make an appearance, and this is so much more than a cameo. Disney has a little fun with itself taking on the critics who say that Disney princesses always need to be saved by a man. These very self-serving women do some saving themselves and steal the movie! Disney’s Ralph Breaks The Internet opens Wednesday, November 21.
WATCH. In My Christmas Inn, Tia Mowry-Hardrict stars as Jen Taylor, a high-powered executive who inherits a small town inn in Alaska from her great-aunt Helen. Suddenly, Jen’s in charge of running a charming bed and breakfast and planning the town’s festive celebrities. Thank goodness there’s a local hunk, Steve Anderson (Rob Mayes) to guide her through this new life journey! Check out our definitive list of this year’s holiday movies starring brown gals all season long! My Christmas Inn airs Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 8 p.m. on Lifetime.
