Why Jermaine Dupri Asked WTF Is The #BowWowChallenge. We’ve Got The Answer – and An Explanation!
By The DivaGals | May 25, 2017 | EntertainmentThe cast of WE tvΓÇÖs new series Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta gathered with industry heavyweights – including our own DivaGal Brittany McCarthy – for a world premiere screening at ManhattanΓÇÖs iPic Theater, followed by a Q&A and after-party at New York City’s The Tuck Room. But the only answer anyone wanted is WTF is the #BowWowChallenge.
In case you aren’t in the know, the #BowWowChallenge started when series star and executive producer Bow Wow posted a photo on Instagram of a jet, captioning that how he rolls to New York City for his show’s premiere.
During a Q&A, Bow Wow (gov’t name Shad Moss) actually explained what his surrogate father Jermaine Dupri,┬áwho was also in attendance, said to him when he saw the #BowWowChallenge start trending last week. ΓÇ£He hit me like ‘WHAT. THE. F&%K. ARE. YOU. DOING?!’ And I said ‘Yo, just be cool, I got this. ThereΓÇÖs a method to my madness. Be cool. Be calm, I never actually said I was on the plane.’ΓÇ¥ Bow continued and spoke to his “method” and his personal experience after the photo surfaced and began trending last week.
ΓÇ£Once America got a hold of it I said, OK. I said, damn we got a show coming. This is probably gonna be the newest hot show on WE tv. F%@k it, IΓÇÖm runnin’ with it. We gonna ride this wave, we gonna spin this thing around. And for me and my homies, we joke all the time. Like, we be at the studio, we be at the bar, and itΓÇÖs no cut.
“What I mean by that is thereΓÇÖs no holds barred when we crack jokes. So for me, I think what a lot of people donΓÇÖt understand is, by me being in the game since five (years old), IΓÇÖm pretty much bulletproof to it all. IΓÇÖve heard it all. IΓÇÖve heard the naysayers … so for me itΓÇÖs like just kick back and be like ‘OK world, pay attention to me.'”
If this is the kind of antics we’ll see on the season, we can’t wait to watch!
