Meet Flip Or Flop Forth Worth’s Dynamic Duo Andy and Ashley Williams (They Are “Crazy In Love!”)

ThereΓÇÖs a new home flipping team on HGTV, and they are quickly turning into one of our faves. Andy and Ashley Williams are the stars of Flip Or Flop Forth Worth, and this military couple is dedicated to reviving the neighborhood, one home at a time.

The DivaGals chatted with the adorable duo to learn more about how they got into the house flipping business, their design style and just how much Andy is crazy in love with his partner wife!

You met while you were both in the military. How did you decide to work together in home flipping?

Ashley: Andy was doing it before he met me. He introduced me to the whole real estate world. I was still on active duty and I was getting out of military, He started investing in 2005.

Andy: When youΓÇÖre overseas in Iraq and dealing in the context of war, youΓÇÖre thinking about your future. Real estate itΓÇÖs a safe haven and good way to invest your money in the market. I grew up in a small community where affordable and quality housing was a challenge. So I figured if I was going to invest, IΓÇÖd solve a problem. I love real estate ΓÇô IΓÇÖm a real estate hoarder – but weΓÇÖre passionate about solutions. ThereΓÇÖs always a calling for housing solutions, especially in the United States. ThereΓÇÖs no greater and better service than to add value to a community than to bring up a house and hand it over to a home owner. In season one, youΓÇÖll see all these beautiful transformations, but whatΓÇÖs most important for us is family spending years in these houses, building memories in affordable housing. ThatΓÇÖs important for us, to continue to serve.

Your first show house redesign is gorgeous! How would you describe your design style?

Ashley: We want to bring a home back to life. We look it at for what it was and try to bring it back. It may need a redesign to make it flow better. But you donΓÇÖt want to lose its old school charm. ThatΓÇÖs what I try to do. Look at it for what it was and say, ΓÇ£what does this need to bring it back to its glory days?ΓÇ¥

Andy: AshleyΓÇÖs very humble. Our homes are very family centric. When we go into a house, to be honest, every house we do is an opportunity to move in. When you see those big pantries, itΓÇÖs because Ashley has said, ΓÇ£I would want a big pantry in the house.ΓÇ¥

Ashley, sounds like youΓÇÖre the brain behind the design!

Ashley: IΓÇÖm the brains, but I really try to make a personal experience in what I would want in a house. If I walk into a living room and itΓÇÖs just one tiny little room – I have a 4 year old and 5 year old, so quiet little rooms are not good for us. If somebodyΓÇÖs quiet, somebodyΓÇÖs in trouble. I would need to see them from a variety of different areas. I try to take that personal experience into a design and make it a functional house.

How do you work together and not drive each other crazy?

Andy: Ashley and I have very definitive lanes and we stay in our lanes. Ashley is the brains the design sheΓÇÖs also the balance. IΓÇÖm very visionary and passionate, and itΓÇÖs fun for me. She brings it down to a process. And itΓÇÖs a team sport, we have an entire team behind us helping us.

Ashley: We definitely have to have respect. ItΓÇÖs a is key factor.

WhatΓÇÖs one of your favorite transformations this season?

Ashley: I love old school glam and we were able to do one of the houses like that. ItΓÇÖs black and white and red lipstick ΓÇô itΓÇÖs classic old Hollywood.

Andy: ItΓÇÖs a 1926 home, and most investors would have just torn it down and done something new. What Ashley was able to do bring it back to life ΓÇô itΓÇÖs probably our best transformation of season one.

WhatΓÇÖs your one tip to transforming a space?

Ashley: I would say an accent wall. They are not just color ΓÇô you can use texture or pillars. You can use mirrors ΓÇô an accent wall will totally flip a room around.

Andy: Ashley just gets inspired, and bless her heart, she brought wallpaper back to life in one house. She plays with color. She brings this life with color, itΓÇÖs just amazing ΓÇô the blues, the grays, whatΓÇÖs sheΓÇÖs able to do with green ΓÇô the colors, the textures and layers, itΓÇÖs beautiful.

Ashley, Andy is your biggest fan!

Ashley: YouΓÇÖre like your best version of yourself all the time to him, itΓÇÖs really nice.

Andy: I love Ashley a lot. She has this beautiful smile and sheΓÇÖs able to bring that back and incorporate it into our flips.
