Nat Geo’s Neil deGrasse Tyson Tells Us What To Pack For Space Travel!!

Hey DivaGals! We hit the red carpet for the 2017 NAT GEO Upfront and got to chat with the coolest man in space studies, astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson. We had one burning question for the StarTalk host┬á- what should we pack in our Louis Vuitton case once space travel is a viable vacation excursion? Of course, he didn’t disappoint.

“Dramamine,” Neil shared. “Because you’re at Zero G[ravity] and when you throw up, you don’t want the throw up getting in people’s hair.”

Food for space travel is definitely getting better, but Neil suggests we pack a few good treats. “Any type of sticky food. Mexican food is good, like refried beans and tortillas, which don’t make many crumbs,” he offered. Sorry Francophiles: NO French bread!

If you want to be naughty in space, “brush up on laws of physics – most of what we do in the bedroom would send you careening into the back wall,” Neil said with a hearty chuckle. “I’m just being honest with you. Bring some velcro and straps — ┬ásome people already own that stuff — but you definitely need it in space.”

Neil also suggests we “practice on how to use a Zero G space toilet. A lot of what we do (no pun intended) presumes that gravity is helping us,” he cautioned. “You don’t want things floating around so brush up on that.”

Catch Neil chatting with legendary producer Norman Lear on StarTalk, this Tuesday, April 25 at 9 p.m. on NatGeo.
