NYFW Spring ΓÇÖ19 ΓÇô Studio One Eighty Nine Co-founder Rosario Dawson Makes African Fashion Shine Bright

One of the hottest shows during NYFW was presented by Studio One Eighty Nine. The brainchild of actress Rosario Dawson and luxury executive Abrima Erwiah, the dynamic duo celebrated Africa, women’s empowerment and social enterprise through fashion, word and dance at Style 360 Fashion.

This season’s collection is filled with brilliant color and pays homage to the motherland Ghana in West Africa. Inspired by movement and migration of people, the line is recognition of how all humanity came from Africa, and its roots, culture and design should be celebrated.

Studio One Eighty Nine started with its signature color of indigo and expanded from its limitless palette.

The line is designed for every human – black, white, red; male, female, they; able-bodied and other; young, old – ageless.

The collection also represents Studio One Eighty Nine’s commitment to creating sustainable income in Africa through fashion. A percentage of under 10 percent of income coming from fashion can add billions of dollars to the nation.
