Regina King Has A Development Deal At ABC. And We Know What She Wants To Bring To The Network!

Breaking News! Two-time Emmy winner and American Crime star Regina King has scored a development deal at her home network ABC, and the Divas know exactly what kind of project she plans to bring to the masses!

“One of the things I feel we don’t see so much of is a woman of color at the head of a dark comedy,” she told us at ABC Press Tour Winter ’17. “The beauty about a dark comedy especially is that you can use satire to touch on social issues. and bring awareness to things and not be traumatic.”

Regina says it won’t be long before we see this much-needed character of color on television. “There are things that we are working on already. I don’t want to speak on it too soon. But you will be hearing very soon.” And yes, you will get to see this multifaceted actress in “at least one” of her new projects.

This is the perfect culmination Regina, who has worked for 30 years in the industry. “I’ve picked up a lot of skills along the way and it’s time for me to employ those skills. I’m jumping up and down and I’m ready for it.”
