RESET YOUR LIFE 2020! The Comeback – Week 7: All My Supplements!

By   |   February 18, 2020   |   Fitness

Your Image Gal has been running, physically and figuratively. I have not presently lost any more weight but my muscle condition has continued to improve and I like the all over tone I’m seeing. I also appreciate that I’m getting stronger at doing push-ups. Thanks to my trainers, Boris and Zach, better upper body strength is an ongoing aspiration of mine. I can do crunches for days but pushups are seriously challenging.

My increased energy is helping tremendously with my workouts because I’m getting up early in order to work out with my husband Jeffrey, guided by my friend and trainer of many years, Boris Borbua via WhatsApp. Jeffery was having trouble finding time for his workouts, feeling very pressed for time with his work schedule, so I suggested switching it up: instead of training for two hours twice a week, we now train for a half an hour four times a week. This schedule is better for both of us because it creates consistency and you can work out very effectively in 30 minutes! The important thing is to get that workout in! My plan is working and Jeffrey is already feeling and looking better, lucky us!

I attribute this upward spiral of energy to the regular workouts, a clean diet and supplements. I do believe the right supplements can be a terrific aid when you find good ones that work for you. Some supplements can be found in your kitchen. Here are my supplements:

Water. Lots of it. I strive for 10 glasses of day. Drink water, then drink more water! Most of us don’t drink enough water.

In the AM I have:

Lemon juice and water. I try to consume the juice of three lemons a day by squeezing them in and on everything. I also do 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar, 1/4 teaspoon baking soda and 8 oz of water.  If fasting during the morning, you might want to wait to consume these as you break your fast and opt for a later light lunch like a vegetable soup or a salad with a lean protein.

A small banana around 10 or 11 a.m. on an empty stomach or green juice, made fresh. I swear by this. Drink this most days and it will make you feel amazing. After drinking this regularly for a few years now I can honestly say that I can feel the difference between the days with green juice in contrast to the days without it.

I make a blender full. I pour it into four smoothie containers, I give one to Jeffrey, one for me and refrigerate the other two for the next day. You can also make a big batch and freeze them, then thaw them out overnight in your fridge for the next morning.

You can make any version of this. Here is what I put in mine.

Spirulina shot. This elixir is very energizing. Spirulina contains all the amino acids in the right order to make protein. And we know that plant sterols are great for us. I feel more vibrant within moments after enjoying this superfood elixir. Here’s my recipe:

  • 8oz of coconut water
  • 1 heaping tablespoon of spirulina
  • Optional 3/4 of a tablespoon of raw cacao

I also take probiotics and digestive enzymes. I try to take them at every meal but I at least take them every morning and I do feel a difference when I take them regularly.

True Niagen. When I added this supplement into the mix I immediately started to experience a renewed sense of energy and vitality which made for more enthusiastic workouts.

Vitamin B12 is also a great contributor to feeling like a rock star.

Iron. I take it periodically for good measure. Lots of women don’t get enough iron.

Several drops of hemp oil with a drop of peppermint oil, diluted in a glass of water for its omega 3 fatty acids and other benefits.

In the PM I have:

Veritas Farms Full Spectrum Hemp Oil. One tincture with a full glass of water. I’ve recently added this one into the mix. Great for skin and an anti-inflammatory. Hemp oil is 75 percent omega-3s and omega-6s in an ideal 3:1 ratio. Fatty acids are important to the normal functioning of all the systems of the body.

Magnesium Oxide. Before bed with a big glass of water on an empty stomach before bed. I love this stuff, Magnesium oxide has a wonderfully cleansing and detoxifying effect.

Other accomplishments in my comeback journey — the improved stamina and energy is helping me get more accomplished. Better concentration is helping me tackle things that are not second nature to me. Socially, I had more energy to organize get-togethers for family and friends.
