Croatia is s a country in Europe on the Adriatic Sea, directly across from Italy. And this most glorious side of the Adriatic offers plenty of historic seaside towns, fabulous beach clubs and quaint fishing villages. Here are three things you should do when you are in this gorgeous landscape.

Jump Off A Cliff

While attending a wedding in Croatia, our own Adventure Gal Wendy Gonzalez took the plunge — literally. She dived 16 ft. into the water outside of Buža Bar in old town Dubrovnik.  “It was a once-in-a-lifetime exhilarating experience,” she declares. The bar entrance, which is carved in the side of a stone wall, brings you to the edge of a cliff on Lokrum Island. Find cliff jumping a little too adventurous? The sunset views are stunning as well.

Take A Private Cruise

Alfa Mario

Whether it’s by yacht, catamaran or luxury mini-cruiser, seeing the Croatia countryside by boat is an incredible trip. The Alfa Mario is one of the most luxurious vessels to sail in Croatia. This mini-cruiser has 18 cabins — perfect for comfortable cruising for up to 36 people. The Alfa Mario features tastefully decorated rooms and a jacuzzi and pool, just a few of the amenities that make this mini cruiser an incredible trip.

Eat This Black Risotto!

Known locally as crni rižot, black risotto is made with cuttlefish or squid, olive oil, garlic, red wine and squid ink, which gives it its intense seafood flavour and black colour. Warning: your mouth will turn black once you dig into this country favorite. Can’t wait to try it? Check out this black risotto recipe from foodandwine.com.
