Theopolis Vineyards was established in 2003 by Theodora Lee, an attorney who also makes fine wines. She developed a taste for wine shortly after moving to San Francisco from Texas in 1987, largely as a result of the impact of the mentors at her legal firm, many of whom owned vineyards. Ms. Lee decided to start her own vineyard after enrolling in multiple viticulture courses at UC Davis. Situated in the famous Yorkville Highlands of the Anderson Valley in California, Theopolis Vineyards is a small-lot vineyard and hand-crafted winery. The AVA is a very elevated, inhospitable inner wine-growing region that is located along Highway 128 in southeast Mendocino County close to the boundary with Sonoma County. Robert Parker, a renowned wine critic who was founded in 2003, awarded Theopolis Vineyards wines a perfect score of 94 to 96 points in 2006, an outstanding result for the vintner’s first harvest.

Mouton Noir is a two-pronged venture that produces a line of t-shirts and Oregon wines. It was established by sommelier André Hueston Mack in 2007. The wines, which are referred to as exclusive and distinctive garage wines, were initially produced for some of the greatest restaurants in New York where Mack served as a sommelier, and are now offered everywhere. Clothing made by Mouton Noir is influenced by hip-hop, punk, and skateboarding cultures. Chaine des Rotisseurs conferred the honorary title of “Best Young Sommelier in America” upon Mack.
