LUXE GAL: Designer Cynthia Rose’s Celebrity Wish List!

The collection from NY designer Cynthia Rose creates what every diva longs for: a chance to indulge her signature one-of-a-kind style with limited edition pieces. Described as “sexy, artsy, fun and fabulous, ” it’s a modern spin on yesteryear charm with color palette in silks, velvets, cashmere, while its coordinated furs come in shades of smoky blue, olive, charcoal and chocolate.
Cynthia only makes one or two of each piece, which are available at better department stores like Bergdorf Goodman and high-end boutiques across the country.
We took a few minutes to meet the diva behind the collection. Cynthia’s inspiration comes from the past, especially the Victorian era. This was the era that paid attention to details: embroidery, beading, close fits and sexy high necks. Everything Cynthia designs is antique chic re-imagined for a modern woman.
Cynthia is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology and began her professional life as an artist who was fascinated with collecting. She opened her showroom in 1999 and the first store to carry her designs of wraps and shawls was Bergdorf’s. She took the fashion world by storm with her design of one “great-shaped jacket designed for petite women” and it flew off the racks! Cynthia later decided that she preferred limited-edition pieces which allowed her to recycle, handcraft and re-imagine classic pieces.
If you are a celebrity watcher then you may have seen her pieces on actresses Kate Walsh (Private Practice) and Angie Harmon (Rizzoli and Isles). Cynthia would love to see her designs on fellow redheads Nicole Kidman, Emma Stone, Amy Adams and Debra Messing and we agree! Check more pictures of her work!
