Fall Hair Tips From L.A. Hair’s Anthony Pazos!
By Courtney Thornton | October 28, 2015 | Beauty, Food Fashion Style#LifestyleWednesday Divas! When it comes to looking fierce for the red carpet, Kimble Hair Studio is wear all the celebrity divas go. The salon has gained so much prestige, that owner Kim Kimble documents the madness of her high-end salon on her WE tv series L.A. Hair. The show is packed with catty drama, fierce hairdos and even fiercer stylists – and they’ll be airing it all in the L.A. Hair Reunion this Thursday, Oct. 29 at 10 p.m.!
Of course Kim only gets the best stylists to be a part of her glam team in her high-end salon, including Anthony Pazos. Anthony has worked with many divas, including Leighton Meester, Khloe Kardashian and Ashley Greene. Not only does he work alongside Kim as a stylist to the stars, he also owns his own hair salon in West Hollywood. We spoke with Anthony Pazos to get some all-around hair tips and to get the inside scoop on his experience on L.A. Hair!
What have you learned from Kim Kimble that has helped you build your own salon?
I definitely learned a lot about African-American hair. IΓÇÖm almost embarrassed to say that I didnΓÇÖt really know how to style it before working at KimΓÇÖs salon. Now that IΓÇÖve learned how to style it, I love it! ItΓÇÖs definitely way different and so fun to work with!
How much of the drama that we see on screen happens behind the scenes as well?
The drama that you see on screen is 100 percent real, but there is more drama behind the scenes. Most of us get along, but there is some bad blood between a few of us. Angela and I really donΓÇÖt get along at all. ThereΓÇÖs a lot of hostility between the two of us. ThereΓÇÖs just a lot of shade behind the scenes that you donΓÇÖt see on T.V.
Of the many celebrities you’ve worked with, which was your favorite and why? Which celebrity do you dream of working for?
I loved working with Khloe Kardashian. SheΓÇÖs very vibrant and she just keeps it real. She and I just have so much fun! She calls me her “baby boy.” But sheΓÇÖs also very straight up. She loves to have fun but sheΓÇÖs also a very serious business woman. I would love to work with Ariana Grande, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift. TheyΓÇÖre all at the top of their game.
What are your hair tips for straight, wavy, and kinky hair this fall?
For kinky hair, IΓÇÖd suggest blonde tips or highlights to add a pop of color. When styling natural hair, always have side parts or just leave it round. For straight hair, do ombre, or fall colors, like a deep red, or even gray! The gray hair look is in right now — gray is here to stay! For wavy hair, the same tips for straight hairΓǪ gray or ombre. Also just get creative with it, like green or ombre green where itΓÇÖs dark at the root and light at the end.ΓÇ¥
What are your “quick style” tips and product recommendations for natural girls?
If youΓÇÖre in a rush, you have to start doing your hair the night before. Just do a quick blow dry and pre-curl. In the morning you can flip it upside down and scrunch it a little bit. If youΓÇÖre gonna do a part, you want to have a specific, defined part. As for products, I recommend Mixed Chicks. They’re really good for defining the curl. Another line I love is Redken All Soft.
What can potential clients expect from you that they canΓÇÖt expect from any other stylist?
When you come to me, youΓÇÖll laugh a lot. I love to have fun and I love to joke around. YouΓÇÖre cheeks will hurt from laughing so hard and having so much fun. So IΓÇÖll lay your hair and weΓÇÖll have a good time.
