FITNESS GAL's 12 Days of Fitness Day 10: Get Some Sleep

Today has been busy!

I got up, did a good run at the gym, came home and made my daily juice. I put in a few good hours working on all my biz ventures (including looking up exciting new fitness avenues for you in 2011!).

I had planned to spend the afternoon shopping with my niece, but before I could pick her up, I got a call from my gym begging me to sub a class. Yep, people are working out till the last minute! I switched around my schedule to accommodate, and sweated it out for another hour.

Then it was off to spend the evening with my niece, who has been dancing around with sugar plums in her head since Thanksgiving. Keeping up with her was a challenge in itself.

Now it’s nearly 11 p.m., and I’m realizing one thing: I need a good night’s sleep!

Yes, sleep is such an essential part of healthy well-being. When you’re getting some major shut-eye, your body is repairing itself from the daily beating you’ve given it.

Not getting enough can cause all sorts of havoc on your system, including weight gain, and we’ve got enough to fight with all those decadent holiday meals.

So after you read this installment of 12 Day of Fitness, do yourself a favor. Brew up some decaf green tea, pull back your covers and hop into bed. Try to get at least 6 to 7 hours of shut-eye tonight to get your through the next 48 hours of Christmas cheer.

After all, it’s going to be hard to fall asleep tomorrow when you know Santa’s on his way!

Work it out… no matter what!
