My friend Jessica Perdomo, who also hails from the┬áDominican Republic, is founder and CEO of J.J. Gray, a revolutionary shoe┬ácollection of handcrafted riding boots and┬áOxfords. J.J. Gray┬ápartnered with curly hair expert Ouidad and was hosted by Lisa Alter for the premiere event.

WEAR THREE.We’re digging that 2016 seems to be the year to love all things African. Ayissi Nga Joseph-Marie is the creator of the brand Wazal Couture., pictured up top! The designer, who hails from Cameroon, calls his current collection Ova T├⌐t├⌐. This collection is inspired by a Cameroonian slang — “ova” — which means bigger and noble person, while “T├⌐t├⌐” refers to chic and bourgeois. We’d also use the word chic to describe the amazing and modern appearance of the clothing. Ayissi mixes mediums of African prints and leathers.
