WATER. Summer is here. If you live in New York City, like a bunch of us DivaGals do, sometimes you like to leave the boroughs. That’s why we hopped a dinghy and headed to ΓǪ New Jersey! Yep, we went to Surf City Megabar & Restaurant, which has opened for the 2016 summer season. Located right on the Hudson River, this indoor-outdoor space seats 400 people and offers a fun array of mixed drinks, apps, entrees and desserts.
With pina coladas in hand, we enjoyed a sampling of apps like calamari, coconut shrimp and lobster rolls. Then it was on to burgers (from beef to mahi mahi) with crispy fries, and our big entree of the night: seafood paella. The evening ended with bites of chocolate truffle balls and key lime pie. With a chill atmosphere — there’s no overpowering music so you can actually have a conversation around the bar’s fire pits — it’s a perfect escape that’s only a 15-minute boat ride away!
