GAL APPROVED Weekend: Hot NYC Bar Discovery; Cool Shades and Gorgeous Makeup!
By DIVAGALS | March 30, 2012 | Entertainment, Gal ApprovedSIP. Finding a great glass of wine in New York City isnΓÇÖt hard. Finding a great glass of wine within five blocks of a NYC college campus? Now thatΓÇÖs a different story. ThatΓÇÖs why the DivaGals were excited to discover bahr | che, a wine bar in New York City’s Astor Place, just blocks away from the New York University campus. The cozy space kind of feels like your very cool (and cute) English professor has invited you to join him for a spirit in his favorite watering hole: lots of wood on the walls and a dizzying array (150 varieties!) of wine behind the counter. We tested out three reds and finally settled on the Grosbot-Barbara. bahr | che also has nibbles. We tested the salmon tartare and would highly suggest trying the lobster mac ‘n cheese, it smelled delicious ΓÇô┬á we think a couple of sliders on the menu definitely wouldnΓÇÖt hurt, wine can make you HUNGRY! Make sure to ask for Lenora to be your server. SheΓÇÖs majorly adorable with a quirky sense of style, and remember, when it comes to the college years, itΓÇÖs all about discovering the best way to express yourself.
SHADE. Everyone has their own personal style challenges. If you have fine features it can be a nightmare to find sunglasses that are just right. Enter TC Charton with a line of glasses that are ideal for Asians and a variety of ethnicities who have a hard time finding glasses and sunglasses that donΓÇÖt slide down their noses, or rest on their cheekbones. “I used to think something was wrong with my face because I couldnΓÇÖt find glasses that fit,ΓÇ¥ says TC Charton designer Alexandra Peng. ΓÇ£Oakley was the first to make Asian Fit eyewear but I wanted to go in a different direction, less sporty and all luxury.ΓÇ¥ Celebrity fans of the brand include New York WABC news anchor Liz Cho. Just in time for Spring, we’re loving the company’s Orquidea design. The brown crystal with gold trim frame is cool and futuristic at the same time.
SMOOTH. Speaking of Spring … it’s all about having beautiful skin. We got the┬áscoop from Tarek Abbas, national makeup artist for Lanc├┤me during Fashion Week, and we had to share his secrets. Hint: it’s about about the foundation application. Check it out below!
