Exercise. To be healthy, you need to be regularly exercising. Whether you chose running, walking or cycling — it doesnΓÇÖt matter to us — just as long as you are taking the time to exercise. By going for a brisk 30-minute walk each day, you can burn around 1,500 calories a week! ThatΓÇÖs just by going for a quick walk. Imagine how many calories you could burn by going jogging each morning. To tone and firm muscles and burn more calories, it’s important to regularly weight train.
Reduce your alcohol intake. To become healthier, it is a good idea to reduce your alcohol intake. Not only can drinking alcohol leave you feeling bloated, hungover and tired, it can also cause weight gain. Did you know that in a single measure of spirits, there are more calories than a single measure of cream? By reducing your alcohol intake, you will improve your health and feel better. If, however, you fancy a drink, stick to one alcoholic beverage, and enjoy water, tea or calorie-free beverage for the rest of the night.
Drink lots of water. Break out that H2O! As well as keeping you hydrated, drinking water has many other amazing benefits like clearer skin, weight loss, more energy, a stronger immune system and the ability to focus more at work. Each day aim to drink at least eight glasses of water.
Quit smoking. Smoking is bad for your health; it affects your lungs, makes you more prone to disease and has lots of other nasty side effects. There’s no need for it, so you need to quit smoking. By quitting smoking, not only will you reduce your risk of certain diseases, you will also improve your general health. You will notice that your skin is clearer, your teeth are whiter and that you can breathe more easily, among other things.
Eat healthy foods. Aim to stick to a healthy and balanced diet as much as possible. Avoid sweets, prepared meals with preservatives and fast food. Try to stick to clean eating. Make sure to eat lots of fruit, vegetables and whole grains, as well as lots of lean meat and fish. If you find yourself feeling peckish between meals, opt for fruit or vegetables as a snack.
Practice yoga. The DivaGals love to get our stretch on! Practicing yoga has many benefits, including improved mood, lower stress levels, and better sleeping habits. Make sure to practice yoga three or four times a week to help keep you feeling happy and stress-free.
