HOW-TO Convince Judges To Open Their Courtrooms To Your New Reality Show!By Delaina Dixon | March 24, 2016 | Entertainment
There’s a new reality show premiering tonight on We tv! Sisters In Law follows the lives of six real-life lawyers working the system in Houston, Tex. And yes, in this series, we get to see them in and outside the courtroom.
So we know what you’re thinking (cause we thought it too!). Just how did these ladies with real trial dates and defendants convince the legal system to film their cases ON CAMERA?
“Getting the judges on board was a little bit of work,” said Juanita Jackson, a seasoned criminal defense attorney who spoke after the exclusive premiere screening of the series last night inside New York City’s Museum of Art & Design. “But we have a good relationship with the judges and the D.A. so we were able to individually go to them, and each judge had to give us their permission.”
The series petitioned the county and government officials to allow filming inside the courtrooms, and they agreed. “The city finally got on board and they are really excited about filming in Houston.” Yep, the Houston court system can’t wait to see what happened!
We’ll see how these Juris Doctorates — which also stars Jolanda Jones, Vivian King, Monique Sparks, Rhonda Wills and Tiye Foley — deal with their criminal defense clients and their million dollar civil law suits, but the sparks really fly when they deal with each other! Like in any profession, competition abounds, and when it comes to the law, no one wants to be the losing case!
Watch Sisters In Law series premiere, Thursday, March 24 at 10 p.m. on We tv.
