It’s Monday! Time to start things right with Inspiration Gal!
A while back I had a stomach virus and didnΓÇÖt have the strength to keep running to the bathroom so I put a pillow on the hard, cold bathroom floor. I figured what little sleep I was going to get that night would have to be gotten in that spot.
A minute after I had laid down, my dog got out of her comfy dog bed and laid right next to me on the cold, hard floor without being asked. It was then I realized why people love dogs…
They are always there for you!
When I wake up in the morning (or when she wakes me up), she is excited that I have risen, and wags her tail happily as I get out of bed. When I go to work in the morning, she walks me to the door and is sad to see me go. When I come home, she is waiting at the front window and then runs to the door to greet me. As I come through the door, she leaps for joy.
What a world this would be if we treated each other like dogs. Yes, the expression ΓÇÿtreat like a dogΓÇÖ has some negative connotations, but IΓÇÖm suggesting you treat your loved ones the way the family pet treats you.
When your spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend, etc. gets out of bed in the morning, donΓÇÖt just tell them to turn off the alarm and keep the lights lowΓÇöwish them a great day. Thank them for getting up and being a productive member of society. Smile and give them a quick peck before you go back to sleep or continue on your daily ritual.
If your loved ones leave the house before you do, walk them to the door. Pretend to be a little sad that they are leaving even thought you know you will see them in nine hours or so. This does wonders to the other personΓÇÖs self-esteem! When loved ones comes home, stop what you are doing and meet them at the door. Greet them with a hug or kiss. Let them know that you are happy to see them. And if itΓÇÖs your significant other, you could wag your tail to really let him or her know how happy you are to see them (wink, wink!).
Dogs are man’s best friends for a reasonΓÇöthey know how to make us happy. When you truly attempt to make others happy they will return the favor. Whether itΓÇÖs a colleague, family member or significant other, treat them like a dogΓÇö be happy to see them and they’ll always be there when you need them!
