It’s NY Fashion Week and if you are like myself, you love fashion on all different body types. That’s one reason I attended the “Face the Sweet” plus size benefit fashion show at Zanger Hall.

CEO of Full Blossom magzine Mel Andrews  put the entire show together, which made history as one of the first plus size fashion show to rock the runways during NY Fashion Week.

The fashion was nothing short of fabulous for plus size divas with celebrity designer Marco Hall behind the cutting edge looks.

Next Friday star and comedian Michael Blackson, the “African king of comedy,” was spotted in the front row and he seemed to enjoy what he saw.

Fashion was in bloom with models in whimsical designs like a green fruit design dress to one with blue hair representing the color for diabetes with a huge blossom mask.

Hosted by former Ford model and image style director of Divabetic.com Catherine Schuller and CEO and founder of Divabetic.com Max Szadek, the longtime time assistant to the late Luther Vandross, who is now known as “Mr.Divabetic” ΓÇô the show recognized people affected by diabetes. Catherine informed us of her struggle with diabetes, sharing tips on how to live a normal life if you have been diagnosed with the disease, and how to check for symptom of pre-diabetes. I learned just 30 minutes of movement or exercise makes your diabetes better by 58 percent daily.

Mixing fashion and knowledge of diabetes proved to be inspirational. You can be average or plus size and still look fierce while also fighting illness and living a fun, healthy, fashionable life.
