Tonight, stars will descend upon the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles to see who we, the audience, voted as our fave stars of 2009 at the People’s Choice Awards!
So who’s going to win? Here’s TV DivaGal’s predix!
Favorite TV Comedy: The Big Bang Theory. Two and a Half Men has dominated this category, but I’m thinking its companion show about nerds who love science just might mix the right formula to take it this year.
Favorite TV Drama: House. We’d hate to have him as our doctor, but Hugh Laurie‘s portrayal of a cranky MD who can solve just about any ailment is hard to beat. And that’s why he’ll win the Favorite TV Drama actor again, too.
Favorite TV Obsession: Gossip Girl. Come on, you know you watch, whether it’s for the clothes, the kids or the naughty love scenes. P.S., the show could use some XOXO to help it in the ratings this season.
Favorite Competition Series: Dancing With the Stars. Emmy dominator The Amazing Race isn’t in this category, so it will go to the show that combines ballroom dancing and the celebs who try to hoof it. Though TV DivaGal wouldn’t mind seeing that other dance competition series, SYTYCD, get its props.
Favorite New TV Comedy: Glee. Over a million downloads of its songs on iTunes? Yeah, I think it will get recognized.
Favorite TV Drama Actress: True Blood‘s Anna Paquin. Because her boyfriend Bill may suck us dry if she doesn’t win.
Favorite TV Comedy Actress: 30 Rock‘s Tina Fey. She’s majorly funny, and she’s got the easiest name to spell.
Favorite TV Comedy Actor: Seriously, how is TV DivaGal to choose between the comic genius of 30 Rock‘s Alec Baldwin, Two and a Half Men‘s Charlie Sheen, The Big Bang Theory‘s Jim Parsons, The Office‘s Steve Carell and How I Met Your Mother‘s Neil Patrick Harris? I say make it a five-way tie.
The People’s Choice Awards airs live Wednesday, Jan. 6 at 9 p.m. on CBS.
