For Saidah Blount, leadership has always meant more than a title. It’s about creating opportunities, amplifying voices and leading with intention.
She’s bringing that powerful vision straight to the main stage as the Executive Director of BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn!, New York City’s ultimate summer performing arts spectacular. This season’s theme is all about “Radical Joy,” and it’s kicking off on June 4 and rocking all summer long until September 19.
In our conversation, Blount opened up about her journey to becoming executive director of BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn!, why diversity in leadership matters now more than ever, and the collaborative work that goes into bringing one of New York’s most iconic festivals to life.
Get ready to experience the magic primarily under the stars at the iconic Lena Horne Bandshell in Prospect Park, with a fabulous pop-up community celebration hitting Brower Park in Crown Heights on July 25. It’s the hottest ticket of the summer, bringing incredible music, culture, and pure joy right to the heart of Brooklyn!
