TV DIVAGAL: Inside the FX Upfront Party ΓÇô W. Kamau Bell’s Five Nights-A-Week Plans and Cyril Figgis’ “New” Love Interest!By Delaina Dixon | April 2, 2013 | Entertainment
You know your night is going to rock when DJ Qualls tells you you’re gorgeous.
That’s how my evening started, with the Legit star giving me a major compliment at the FX Upfront party inside Lucky Strikes Lanes on New York City’s West Side last week.
The network celebrated its existing lineup ΓÇô and the impending launch of a new network, FXX, where Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell will soon be seen five nights a week.
“I haven’t really taken it all in yet,” Kamau told us. “It sort of reminds me of a year ago when I found out I had a show one day a week, and I really didn’t know what that meant. Just when I get comfortable, it’s now five days, so we’ll get ready to do it again.”
Kamau revealed that he plans to keep doing his hilarious man-on-the-street segments. “We’ll probably have some other performers from the show do it, and I would imagine the presence of the other people on the show would be bumped up a little bit,” Kamau shared.
“We’re tossing around ideas we haven’t even thought of yet. We had a cartoon in our last episode, so maybe we’ll do more cartoons. I like our show when it’s Sesame Street for grown ups.” We’ll be tuning in for the letter of the day, Kamau!
I also ran into my SNL-alum crush Chris Parnell, who plays Cyril Figgis on FX’s Archer. Obviously, Cyril’s promotion to agent has been a good one; Chris hinted that things “might spark up again between him and [fellow agent] Lana.” Nothing like a second chance at love! Catch Archer Thursdays at 10 p.m.
If my entrance to the party wasn’t enough ΓÇô catching a glimpse of Joshua Jackson at the lanes with longtime girlfriend Diane Kruger from FX’s The Bridge was another great moment. Then there was Sons of Anarchy‘s Charlie Hunnam, who helped me close out the night.
Noting I had no one to take a picture, the impromptu shutterbug snapped this lovely photo of the two of us.
Which leads me to only one conclusion: the men of FX are one incredibly smart and adorable bunch!
