Big sis knows best! That was the case for Ames Brown, last week’s eliminated contestant on The Bachelorette. There just didn’t seem to be any passion between him and Bachelorette Ashley Herbert, and Ames’ big sis Serena noted it.
She advised Ames to crank up the romance between him and Ashley and Ames tried, but it wasn’t enough to keep in him on the show. So how did sis react seeing her little bro sent home?
“They were pretty morose because they knew that I really, really wanted to move on, especially I really wanted to move on to that next week, the first week in Fiji,” Ames shares with TV DivaGal. “So they were pretty sad, and I think that’s just because they knew that I was really sad and thought we had a lot of potential.”
Hmmm, wanted to move on to Fiji? Is this ivy-league educated, well-traveled financier just in it for the global ride? There’s always the possibility, however; TV DivaGal was impressed on how Ames categorized his time with Ashley.
“I had a wonderful time dating her. I don’t want to say I’m trite, but she is amazing,” Ames declares. “For the weeks following our breakup — or whatever that’s called — that was painful.”
Not that he lost the “game” or “competition,” nice! That does make Ames different from a lot of people who appear on the Bachelor or Bachelorette, even if he can’t put his finger on it.
“That’s the only question I can really say I don’t know the answer to,” Ames admits about being labeled “different.” “At least nominally, I’m middle of the road. I’m not the youngest, I’m not the oldest, I’m not the strongest and I’m not the weakest. But different ΓÇô- I get different a lot.”
Maybe we’ll figure it out when Ames appears on the upcoming season of Bachelor Pad!
The Bachelorette airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
