TV DivaGal is watching the 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards tonight at the OK! TV studios, but she’s already revealing who she’d like to see take home an Emmy. Read on for her faves, and tune into OK! TV tomorrow to see if her top picks won the gold!
OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES: Kerry Washington, Scandal. Last year, Claire Danes took home the award for neurotically brilliant Carrie Mathison on Homeland. Let’s keep the trend rolling when it comes to political intrigue and award Washington’s portrayal of Olivia Pope, who kept her head above water as the show turned increasingly soapy. And Washington did it while pregnant.
OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES: Bryan Cranston, Breaking Bad. People sat at the edge of their seat for the final & brilliant performance of Crantson’s Walter White. And since the Academy couldn’t cook up the formula for White to take home the Emmy last year, he’ll take home his fourth tonight for this iconic role.
OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTRESS IN A COMEDY SERIES: Taylor Schilling. Don’t get it twisted ΓÇô we love Julia Louis-Dreyfus‘ Veep. But since she’s already scored the role of POTUS, why not recognize Schilling who anchors a out-of-the-box series that’s filled with actresses of diversity.
OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTOR IN A COMEDY SERIES: Don Cheadle, House of Lies. Cheadle has sold us on his solid performance of the slick, fast-talking business consultant who could make Eskimos reinvest in icicles. And we can’t get enough of his sharp wardrobe.
OUTSTANDING LEAD COMEDY: Orange Is the New Black. The little show about the gritty side of female prison life in all its naked glory (figuratively and literally!), OITNB will make history as the first TV series to win that didn’t premiere on TV airwaves.
OUTSTANDING DRAMA SERIES: Breaking Bad. Even with shiny new True Detective and itΓÇÖs A-list Oscar-winning cast, Breaking Bad will go out like Walter White ΓÇô in a blaze of glory.
