TV SHOW TO WATCH TONIGHT: Gossip Girl Series Finale & An Ode To BlairBy Delaina Dixon | December 17, 2012 | Entertainment
TV DivaGal can’t believe that Gossip Girl, the story about privileged Upper Eastsiders — and the Brooklynites who want to be them — finally ends.
I’ve spoken about Gossip Girl throughout the years, and now I can finally say it: the best character is Blair Waldorf, played by Leighton Meester.
Whether she was scheming as queen bee at Constance Billard School or trying to break off best friend’s rekindled romances, Blair’s devious plans always had purpose and meaning, brought on by her need for control and her fears that she could never live up to being the woman she strives to become.
Blair was one the who had breakthroughs, fell from her perch, and then found a new way to reinvent herself, whether it was becoming NYU’s top Diva instead of a Yale Bulldog; emerging as an editor for W magazine; or figuring out a teen fashion collection would be her signature line for Waldorf Designs. We never saw that type of growth from Serena, even when she tried.
As for love, Blair has been through many men (and princes!), but TV DivaGal has always known that only one man has her heart:┬á Chuck Bass, who is her male equivalent on the depth scale. Remember how she cared for him after his father’s “death” and he finally admitted he loved her? C’est parfait. As much as life has tried to keep them apart – Blair and Chuck keep finding their way back to one another. If tonight’s episode doesn’t end in their wedding, I may blow a gasket! TV DivaGal can only hope they go to great success as a team ΓÇô and only take down a few small countries along the way.
Remember, you have until the end of the episode to enter our Gossip Girl Tour Giveaway so you can relive your favorite moments one last time. XOXO!
Gossip Girl, Series Finale, airs Monday, Dec. 17 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
