TV SUMMER TOUR ’14 Jadyn Wong: From Tomboy To Techie!By Delaina Dixon | July 28, 2014 | Entertainment
Jadyn Wong stars as Happy Quinn in the new CBS Series Scorpion. SheΓÇÖs the only girl in a crew of geniuses hired by Homeland Security to solve complex threats to the nation, based on the real-life think tank created by real-life genius Walter O’Brien. So of course, TV DivaGal had to talk with her!
Childhood prepped Jadyn for hanging out exclusively with the opposite sex. ΓÇ£I grew up a tomboy. I was totally athletic and wanted to get my hands dirty trying to be a Ninja Turtle. So it was very easy for me to be like one of the guys and transferring it to the show,ΓÇ¥ Jadyn shared at ScorpionΓÇÖs press panel in Los Angeles earlier this month.
Even though Happy’s a natural around XY chromosomes, ΓÇ£being able to keep up with the boys, but have a feminine quality, IΓÇÖm exploring that as well,” Jadyn shared.
Turning to the technical side of her character was more of a challenge for Jadyn. ΓÇ£My character hot wires a Ferrari. I remember doing my research and went online only to realize itΓÇÖs not going to teach you how to do that,ΓÇ¥ she recalled with a laugh.
ΓÇ£I talked with Walter who told me that kind of information is not shared with the public. Happy just has to know how to do it inherently, so itΓÇÖs great that heΓÇÖs a resource for usΓÇ¥ when it comes to those plot points. “ItΓÇÖs something resonating with me for the series.”
Scorpion airs Mondays at 9 p.m. this Fall on CBS.
