TV UPFRONT WEEK! The Bachelorette Season Premiere Tonight!

It’s Upfront Week here in New York City, the time when the networks premiere their lineup of new and returning shows for the fall, and hope the media buyers love them as much as we will! The DivaGals wil be bringing you all our fave picks for new shows all week long, so check back often!

But first, we’re giving you a little scoop on ABC and the premiere of the newest season of The Bachelorette, featuring Brad Womack‘s ex Emily Maynard, courtesy show host Chris Harrison.

We’ve heard the talk that Emily’s plan all along was to become The Bachelorette. It just can’t be true, can it? So we asked Chris to weigh in on that situation.

“To the contrary, her goal was to never be the Bachelorette. I don’t know if you’ll see that and get that gist for the season,” Chris reassured TV DivaGal. “I just know personally in talking to her many times throughout the process of becoming the Bachelorette that she was as skeptical as anybody we’ve ever approached.”

Putting her life under the spotlight again and having her young daughter Ricki being exposed to it — “how would that work and how would she handle it” — was the biggest reasons for Emily’s hesitation, according to Chris. “She’s quite the opposite of that. She was very skeptical and elusive to becoming our Bachelorette,” Chris shared.

But not enough not to become her! Well, we believe in the power of love, so here’s hoping Emily finds love the second time around on the reality TV train!

The Bachelorette season premiere airs Monday, May 14 at 9:30 p.m. on ABC.
