DivaGal’s resident The Voice expert Angela Yvonne speaks with advancing members of Team Christina and Team Adam, who are changing lives with just a turn of a chair.

Season seven of The Voice premiered last week with a bang!

Old faces returned and a new face stayed, gearing up to be one of the best seasons yet! If you have been living under a rock, the premise of the show is four judges sitting with their backs towards the contestants, and the contestants must ΓÇ£sing for their supper,” that means impress a judge enough that he or she will offer a chair turn to put the singer on their team.┬á More than one chair turn? The singer gets to choose which celebrity judge will mentor them into becoming The Voice winner and live out their wildest dreams! Here’s Barry Minniefield and India Carney!

I have been watching The Voice from the beginning and I want to know does it feel like sudden death waiting for a chair to turn? What are you thinking in that moment?

Barry (Team Adam): Yes, for me it seemed like that. Especially since I am older and have been doing this awhile. Adam actually didn’t turn until the last minute.

What’s the best advice you’ve gotten from doing the Blind auditions?

India (Team Christina): Always push yourself musically and you will really be surprised by the outcome. And the outcome is really great!

Barry: I am 53 years and the best advice I received from the show is you are never too old: never stop growing and learning — that is what I plan on doing with this experience. To be in these superstars’ presence is incredible.

The Voice: Blind Auditions continues next Monday on NBC at 8 p.m. DonΓÇÖt Forget to tweet us @TheDGDS and @AngelaYvonne. Let us know who your pick for winning this year of The Voice!
